Millman Street, WC1N
- Roof extension to the existing building into a mansard roof to allow for the construction of two two-bedroom flats.
- This project in central London is for a property investment company. The existing property is a mixed use building and is in a conservation area. The client came to us with the intention of taking advantage of the flat roof by extending the four storeys building upwards with a mansard roof to create two new, 2 bedroom flats and therefore increasing the value of the property. Xul Architecture had to make sure that the extension would be historically accurate to match the other mansard roofs in the area and fit within the parameters of the conservation area. Full planning permission was granted in early 2011.
- Finished built area: additional 149sqm
- Completed October 2013
