Architects Kensal Green → What our clients say
Five star service *****
“A totally professional and very approachable team who are so easy to deal with. We had numerous meetings until everything we wanted was put down on paper. Would definitely use this firm again.”
Would 100% recommend
“We looked at four different architects because we were unsure of how much XUL had done in the Hampstead Garden Suburbs. Other practices were way behind in creativity and presentation. XUL saw things that others didn’t and saw the potential of the house. The turn-around time was also exceptional. If I had to do it all again, they would be my architects.”
—Julliette and Michael Overlander
Fantastic Architecture practice
“They get the balance right between listening to brief, stretching ideas and sticking to budget constraints. I would wholeheartedly recommend. They are a delight to deal with!”
A trustworthy and highly creative company
“We experienced XUL as a thoroughly dependable and trustworthy creative team which acted as a supportive partner throughout the project we worked on together. Sebastian got involved in every aspect of the process, and the external consultants he brought in were consistently excellent, contributing greatly to the results achieved. I recommend XUL for any architectural project you may be considering: you will get more than you imagine, including a fulfilling and enjoyable relationship with some deeply committed and creative people.”

Thinking of moving to Kensal Green in North West London? Our guide to properties and life in NW10 will provide all the info you need to know.
Widely considered as one of the most hip postcodes in the capital, Kensal Green holds a huge appeal to young professionals and creatives while also providing a great setting to bring up a family. From its location to its pricing, there’s a lot to love about the area.
The History of Kensal Green
Kensal Green’s first known mention dates back to the mid-13th century, when it was one of the 10 manors of Willesden, and takes its name from the old English for King’s Wood. The area played a significant role in London’s story throughout the centuries since, not least in the 1960s when it became a refuge for the first Afro-Caribbean migrants.
The area is also a popular spot for people that have been priced out of the nearby Notting Hill, and other regions. However, with a population of under 20,000, the district has maintained its peaceful presence as well as its cultural identity.
House Types & Price in Kensal Green
The Kensal Green area boasts a long history and this is reflected by the varied types of properties on the market. Victorian and Edwardian houses are commonplace while the population explosion in the 1960s also resulted in a number of houses being made. There are a number of homes that have been converted to flats too.
Kensal Green architects were also very busy following the 2006 tornado that affected over 150 homes in the area, as well as roads and other infrastructure. As such, there are a lot of new homes as well as older homes that have had extensive work completed to them in recent times.
The average house price in Kensal Green is still relatively high at £767,00, but this is a lot lower than many of the nearby places in North West London. Rental prices are £463 per week. (Per Foxtons)
Life in Kensal Green
Kensal Green is an affluent area that is very popular among young professionals, which is reflected by the plethora of restaurants and entertainment facilities in the area, including the very popular Lexi Cinema. Meanwhile, Queen’s Park and Wormwood Scrubs ensure that there’s a lot of natural attractions to enjoy.
