How can I verify my architect’s recommendations?

We know that trust is an important element of working with an architect. There are a number of ways that you can verify an architect’s recommendations and reassure your mind that they’re the right fit for you.

Firstly, you can ask for references from previous clients to hear personal experience of what your chosen architect is like to work with. You can also read online reviews from trusted sources and quickly gain an overview of their past projects. Check out XUL Architecture’s Google reviews here.

You may want to request to see or visit previous work that the architect has done as this will give you a better sense of their design aesthetic and show you how they might approach your project. See XUL Architecture’s projects.

When choosing an architect, you also want to carefully consider if you have a good rapport and chemistry with them as you will be working closely for one or two years, or more, and you’ll want to develop an open, communicative, and collaborative partnership.

You can tell a lot from meeting someone and gaining a first impression. You need to be able to trust your architect and build up a strong relationship. It’s always best to go with your gut feeling. If it doesn’t feel right, take note!
